31 Jan 07 Door Knocking. (Backdated)

Went door knocking this afternoon with Eunice, a friend from my PRUDENTIAL’s class. After MIA for almost 2 months, I almost forgotten how to sell my products. Keke. For sure, my boss going to jump and screw me up-side down if he finds out. Haha…

Anyway, we meet up for lunch at Khatib’s neighborhood before proceeding for our tasks at around 1 pm. I got to admit, Eunice looks good with her hair grown back to her shoulder length which was much longer than before. (Heez. I just like gals with long hairs…) And most importantly, she’s still SINGLE!!! Time to change my target!! Muahaha… She quite chio and with the right curves too!! Saliva drooling liao… keke… ok ok.. I’ll stop my nonsense…

Coming back to reality, we covered 3 whole HDB blocks with zero success. Bloody @!#$@#!!! Where are the people?? Most of the houses were closed shut. Some even pretended not to be at home even thou I could still hear soft whispering from within. Kaoz!! Fcuk!! What luck!! I’m beginning to doubt if door knocking is the way for me after so many tries. Thhe hit rates were just too low to justify the time and efforts spent? Wonders how others do it? Hmm… Is it perhaps my script used were inadequate? Hmm possible and most likely. Afterall, my command of languages despites which dialects had weakened tremendously since staying on in Army for so long. I told myself I must buck up and had even started on reading newspapers. An effort that I had made to upgrade myself. The other efforts I tried is to speak up more! Hope both ways would help me out.

25 Jan 07 A Tiring Night at Work. (Backdated)

Last night was a real tiring night for me. Being the 2 I/C of the night shift guards, I have 2 men under my command. For last night, it was Dollah and Rizal.

Due to a particular incident that happened a night ago, instructions were passed down from the management that no guards are allowed to enter and rest in the Club House after the Club House is closed! If you are wondering if it’s is because it was because someone had violated the rules, you could wonder no more as you’ll be right. Sad to say, I’m one of the ignorance guard who were caught sleeping at the Club House. Was so mad at myself for I should know better than to be lead by my men to break the house rule. Signz… But I learnt my lesson!!! Honestly!!!

Anyway, I was so damn tired after work that night that I slept till 3 plus pm upon reaching home.

25 Jan 07 A friendly Encounter. (Backdated)

Was doing my morning round this morning near the pond area when I met this nice old Eurasian gentleman who waves up to me to go over.

When I go up to him, he offered politely to me to sit with him and to chat with him for awhile. It was raining lightly then. Haha… The gentleman introduced himself as Mr Clarke and we exchanged handshakes.

Through our conversation I got to know that he and his wife just downgraded from their bigger condo to stay in this current smaller condo as their daughter had went to live in Australia with her new family. They would have very much wanted to go join her if it wasn’t for their elderly in-laws whom they felt obliged to take care since there is no one else to do the job. Since he’s retired, to kill time, Mr Clarke teaches hockey in a local school.

To my surprise also, Mr Clarke is also one of the closer friends of our security firm boss, Mr William Morton. He kept singing praises of Mr Morton of how good and kind he is and a good baker he is as well. I guess there’s lots of friendly giants walking on the earth afterall.

However, good people doesn’t always get rewarded. I know because I felt so. Why I say so? For Mr Morton, I heard from Mr Clarke that he lost his son in a terrible car accident 3 years ago! The son had in fact just graduated from Australia and had returned and Mr Morton had even intended to help his son set up a small cafĂ© or restaurant knowing it’s his passion. My gosh!! The accident must have been a great blow to him! I really empathize him and knew how he must have suffered due to the lost of loved one.

23 Jan 07 A new colleague. (Backdated)

Met a new colleague tonight. A really ‘Big’ fellow by the name of Dollah. Keke… evil me kept thinking of Ballah (Malay word for Ball) cos he is really big and ‘rounded’. haha… If Xiao Mark is to see him, for sure he will say he looks like the Michelin Tyre logo! Wahahaha! No joke! He really does look like one! Haha… ok, my bad for badmouthing people. I’m very bad, I know, come to think back of it. But it’s funny when you think of it again. Hahaha… I have been giving names to my colleagues and associates them to funny characters either from movies or from real life. Hope that none of them read my blogs! Keke… guess I better be more discrete!!

Joke being aside, Dollah is similar to me in a way that he is also a friendly giant! He can jokes more than I do and has a warmth personalities. Only difference is that he’s more straight forward and direct! If he dun like anything about something or person, He’ll tell straight to the face. Whereas for me, I would probably compromise myself and give in to others.

I kinda like working with Dollah as my partner. Besides the issue that we both click well, but also, standing beside him makes me so much slimmer!!! Muahaha!!! I’m just so bad today…!

21 Jan 07 2nd night at Work. (Backdated)

2nd night at work! Tonight, Arjan had assigned me and another old guy to station at the Club House! Well, at least it wouldn’t be as boring as the night before and I do get to have some guard rest after my patrolling sessions.

There are a total of 12 blocks in the premises and each having 6 units on each floor. Our duties are to patrol the premises comprising of the top area as well as the basement carparks and to not mention clocking the checkpoints located on the top floor of every building. There are 4 sessions that we need to clock. 9 pm, 11 pm, 2 am and 4 am the next day. Beside this, we had to open the Club House at 5 plus for usage as the Gym had to be opened at 6 am! Fortunately, we only had to clock 9 blocks as 3 blocks were without clocking books. (Pls dun ask me why… ) Lucky…

As I mentioned, we got ‘rest’ after our patrolling. Me and ‘forgotten his name’ would sneak into the club house and we would hide ourselves behind the small facility counter and ‘rest’ there. I felt that it was very bad of ‘forgotten his name’ to show me the bad examples as it was clearly wrong of us to go sleep in the Club house as I later found out! So bad, caused, me and placed me in a bad situation with the management people.

Anyway, the area where we rest were too small to accommodate both of us who were all big sized. Throughout the night, we changed many positions from sitting on the chairs to sitting on the floor. Ultimately, ‘What’s his name’ was lying and sleeping on the floor! Wahaha! But poor me! Because I was sitting in a corner the whole night ans with him lying on the floor and blocking my path, I can’t straighten my legs and have to remain on sitting position the whole night! Developing cramps and muscle aches on my body due to the prolong straining postures. By chance, when ‘what’s his name’ went for his round of patrolling, I got the chance to swoop places and rest on the sofa chair placed in the Club House. It was a risk that I had to take as it doesn’t shelter me from any passer by. I dare not sleep on the floor as it was already against regulation to rest in the Club House and imagined. Being caught sleeping on the floor some more! Boy! I do not want to lose my job that quickly…!

When morning came, I went for my morning patrol at 7 am. The scenery here are superb!! The air is fresh! And It feel very good!! How I wished I could stayed in a place like this!! But technically speaking, I AM staying in a place like this (Cos I’ll be working here from now onwards) Muahaha!!!

20 Jan 07 First Night at Work. (Backdated)

Tonight is my first night at work as Assistant Security Supervisor working in Edelweiss Park condominium. It’s a 12 hrs shift job from 8 pm to 8 am the next day everyday and I’m being paid $1500 per month! Thou the pay isn’t much, but will still do for now until I could find something better.

Well, can’t complaint too much thou. At least, I’ll be able to pay my bank’s debts with the salary that I earn. Anyway, back to reality, I was stationed at the main guard house being my first night there and I have to pick up quickly from my I/C Arjan, an ex-prison warrant. I picked up fast! Keke.. cos there weren’t anything for me to learn anyway. Haha… And since I’m new, I dared not slack on the job and thus was keeping myself awake the whole night by either going through the procedures or by standing guard at the gate entrance while my new colleagues takes their.. erm ‘rest’. Hee hee hee.

Apparently, all the guards there had a sad pass of their own. I was fortunated to get to know Salleh, Bradson and Arthur on my first night at work. Salleh and Arthur were both old timers and well into their retirements I suppose. And they reminded me of the 2 old crazy threate’s folks from the Jim Henry’s Puppet Show! Hahaha! But their personalities differs of course, only their looks resembles. Keke… lol.

To intro further, Salleh is a gentle old man who moves and talks in a slow carefree manners with no worries of his own. My only problem with him is that I find it tough to understand what he is trying to say to me due to his strong malay essence. I have to keeping asking him to repeat himself. Haha…

Now, Arthur! He din leave much of an good impression on me cos he was very late reporting to work that night, coming in only around 9 plus close to 10 pm. And he seen drunk too… I came to understand later that he had to take up 2 jobs, i.e. one day shift and one night shift! Holy shit! That means he works 24 hrs non-stop?!?! Everyday?!?! No shit! No wonder he’s often late and tired out!! Arjan was very kind to let Arthur rest at one of the store room but he din woke until the next day loh… Tsh tsh tsh…

Finally, Bradson! This dude is a very interesting character. 30 years old male and has a very outspoken personality!! On first night, he can approach me and talk talk talk for hours!!! Again, he reminded me of the Stephen Chow’s ‘Journey to the West’ movie where the monkey god was complain how a nag his master was… as irritating as a fly… just keep buzzing around the ears! Wahahaha. I had the exact feeling that night! But I was too kind to not tell him off and thus let my ears suffered for long hour listening to his talking while my mind wondered off to wonderland. No wonder the rest all ignored him and avoid him. Keke… lol.

To end this, I worked or should I say, stayed awake for 1`2 hours that night. And the last hour was the worst to endure as it would appear especially very long and time would seen very slow and almost coming to a stop. I can’t help feeling a little daze and almost doze off and falling off the chair a couple of times. Heez. I even went for a jog after reaching home! I did a few set of weight training after that but was so tired that I din realized that I had actually fallen asleep while still holhing on to the dumbbell! Silly me! Lol!

But if you ask me if I like the job? Hmm… my reply would be… Yup! I do! Who am I? I’m the new nightshift security officer! My mission is to serve and to protect!! (This is when everyone will stood up and salute, and the national anthem being played for my nobility!!! Wahaha!)
